Finnish legendary footballer Yari Litmanen, who turned 55 on February 20, has decided to return to professional football.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the striker did not immediately sign contracts with big clubs, but moved to the fourth division of the Estonian championship.
Litmanen, a former star of Barcelona, Liverpool and Ajax, currently plays for Kalev. Four months ago, he officially joined the third team of the city of Tallinn.
Thus, after some time, 55-year-old Yari scored his first goal in the Estonian fourth division championship. The legendary striker did not just score a goal. He scored a beautiful winning goal from almost the center of the field and passed the ball over the Nova goalkeeper.
The game ended with a score of 8:3 in favor of the Finnish player's team.
Yari Litmanen is the best footballer in Finnish history. He holds the record for the most appearances in the national team, having played 137 games and scored 32 goals.
In 2011, he participated in a farewell match for the Finnish HIK team.
