Ulviyya Fataliyeva started the World Cup with a victory. She won against Jilin Zhang (Australia) with white pieces - 1:0.
Khanim Balajayeva's start was unsuccessful. She lost to Elnaz Kaliakhmet (Kazakhstan) with black pieces - 0:1.
