The Azerbaijan Youth Boxing Championship will start on February 9.
Idman.Biz reports that the winners in 10 weight categories among boys and five among girls will be determined in the competition to be held at the Boxing Center.
276 boxers from 58 teams representing clubs and sports societies from different cities and regions of the republic will participate in the championship. 244 of them are boys and 32 are girls. The opening ceremony will start at 12:00 and the fights will start at 12:30. The names of the winners will be announced on February 15.
The athletes who win prizes will be included in the national team and will represent Azerbaijan in the international arena.
It should be noted that the supervisor of the U-19 national championship will be Alexander Hamidov from Uzbekistan, and the head referee will be our compatriot Anar Babanli. In addition to local referees, neutral referees with experience in the Summer Olympic Games and world championships - Veronika Shuks (Hungary), Dmitri Meliss (Estonia), Michel Burigo Paulo (Brazil), Pavlov Pavel Petkov (Bulgaria), Go Chjan (China) and Bekjon Yusupov (Uzbekistan) will also manage the fights.
