Azerbaijani MMA fighter will hold a belt fight in his home country after 18 years.
Professional MMA fighter Vusal Azerioglu will fight for the championship belt tomorrow, May 10, at the "Karabakh Fight Championship" tournament in Baku. The athlete, who competes in the heavyweight category (93+ kg), will face Georgian Beka Chxipuri.
The fight will take place at the Borderguard Sports Complex in Baku. The athlete said that his fight will be one of the main matches of the night.
The 36-year-old athlete also shared his thoughts on Ganja:
"I am from Ganja, I spent my childhood there. But I have been living in Turkey for 17 years. I studied at Ganja city secondary school number 31," he said in a statement to gencexeber.az.
The fighter emphasized that he will compete under the flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey:
"God willing, I will fight in my homeland, at home. It is a great pride for me to fight for a belt named after Karabakh. I want to dedicate the victory to all the people of Ganja," added Vusal Azerioglu.
It should be noted that a number of well-known fighters who compete in the world-famous UFC championship will also participate in the "Karabakh Fight Championship" tournament.
