"I had beaten him."
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani MMA fighter Vugar Karimov while talking about his last fight at the Rizin tournament.
The 33-year-old athlete shared his thoughts on the fight in a statement to Offsideplus.az.
"I am satisfied with my fight. I did everything I could to win. I just faced referee injustice. My opponent is a good athlete, he managed to defend his belt twice. But that day I was stronger than him. Unfortunately, the referees did not give me the victory. Most of the fans in the hall also said that the winner of this fight should be Vugar. Even later, people approached me and thanked me for the great fight," Karimov said.
He also announced the approximate date of his next fight: "I have no injuries or pain at the moment. My next fight is expected to take place in April–May."
It should be noted that Karimov faced Brazilian Kleber Koike in the 66 kg weight category. Koike was declared the winner by the judges' decision in the three-round fight.
