Idman.Biz addressed Vugar Alakbarov, the bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympic Games, with this question.
"Despite the absence of many leading boxers, the championship is quite interesting. We see a lot of bright young boxers. It is enough to look at the list of 1/4 finalists in the 60 kilogram weight category, where more than half of them are still yesterday's youth. Mahammadali Ashuraliyev, Mahammadali Gasimzade, Tagi Nasibov - each of them can seriously compete with the experienced Tayfur Aliyev. There are also many talented boxers in other weight categories, but for now I don't want to name names so as not to jinx the children. I am sure that in the final fights we will discover many new and interesting faces for ourselves," said Vugar Alakbarov.
