After the World Championship held in Liverpool from September 2-14 under the flag of the newly established "World Boxing" organization, recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the masters of leather gloves will gather in Dubai for a similar tournament.
This World Championship, which will be held under the flag of the former IBA, not recognized by the IOC, will attract attention with a number of aspects.
Representatives from approximately 120 countries will participate here. This is no coincidence. Because 8 million US dollars is considered a record prize fund in the history of amateur boxing. Champions will receive 300 thousand dollars, and silver and bronze medalists will receive 150 thousand and 75 thousand dollars, respectively.

"I think it will be very difficult for the boys. At least because every boxer participating in this world championship will try to make the most of his chance to get a share of the huge prize pool. Moreover, a lot will depend on the draw - how favorable will the draw be for each of our boxers? But I believe that at least six people - Subhan Mammadov (48 kg), Mahammadali Ashuraliyev (60 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), Saidjamshid Safarov (80 kg), Alfons Domingues (86 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (over 92 kg) will win medals. Whether someone from them can become a champion - this already depends on each of them, their will and their belief in their own strength," Vugar Alakbarov emphasized.
