Rico Verhoeven, who lost to Oleksandr Usyk in the fight for the WBC heavyweight belt in boxing, wants a rematch.
Idman.Biz reports that the Dutch fighter made a post on his social media account after the title match held in Giza, Egypt. He hinted at the stoppage of the fight in the last second of the 11th round, drawing attention to the judges' scores.
"Put the emotions aside. Just look at the judges' notes. There was only one second left in the 12th and final round. We move forward and become stronger!" - Verhoeven wrote.
He also expressed his respect for his Ukrainian opponent and called for a rematch:
"I respect Oleksandr Usyk. It was an honor for me to share the same ring with you. Let's have a rematch!"

It should be noted that Usyk defeated Verhoeven by technical knockout in the 2:59 minute of the 11th round and defended the WBC title. Until that moment of the fight, two judges saw the match as a draw, and one judge favored Verhoeven.
This victory was Usyk's 25th success in his professional career. The Ukrainian boxer continues his undefeated streak in the professional ring.
