Our national team of men performed successfully at the European Youth Boxing Championship (U17), which recently ended in Germany.
Idman.Biz took comments from the head coach regarding the results of the team led by Vagif Kazimov, one of the best specialists in this field in our country, Honored Coach of Azerbaijan.
"How can I say... Frankly, if the referees had not been biased towards our boxers, the number of gold medals could have been higher. Thus, Badalli Ibrahim (54 kg) and Saftar Mammadzadeh (over 80 kg) could have become champions, but as a result they were left without medals at all. However, I believe in the talent of these children as much as I believe in the talent of our champion - Gardash Rahimov, who won in the 46 kg weight category. The other two finalists - Shahin Aslanov (60 kg) and Shukar Aliyev (75 kg) also performed well, but were rightfully defeated in the final. They were simply a little less confident than their opponents," said Vagif Kazimov.
The head coach continued his words as follows:
"The results of this tournament show that there have been and still are talented boxers in Azerbaijan. They can have a great future, and it depends only on themselves. Therefore, the main thing is not to be satisfied with what has been achieved, to work on yourself day by day and constantly develop," said Vagif Kazimov.
