UFC management has long tried to sign a contract with Rico Verhoeven, the Dutch former heavyweight champion at "Glory", but he rejected the offer.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to the statement made by Yahoo Sports Vice President Hunter Campbell during the hearing on the UFC antitrust lawsuit.
Hunter testified about signing fighters and interacting with foreign rivals like other MMA leagues.
Reportedly, Campbell cited Verhoeven as an example and said that he "tried to sign him" before the first UFC event on "Paramount+" in January. However, despite all efforts, Verhoeven decided "not to sign a contract and focus on boxing".
