Jose Ochoa, representing Peru in the UFC's lightest weight division, took a remarkable step after his victory at UFC 328.
İdman.Biz reports that Ochoa defeated American Clayton Carpenter by unanimous decision at the tournament held in Newark, New Jersey, USA. All three judges scored the fight 30:27 in favor of the Peruvian athlete.
After the fight, Ochoa proposed to his girlfriend, who is in Brazil, during an interview in the octagon:
"I want to do something special for my future wife, the mother of my child. Will you marry me?"
Ochoa later stated in an interview with "MMA Fighting" that his girlfriend accepted the proposal:
"She said 'yes'. Because she was waiting for this moment. She will be my wife."
The match was dominated by Ochoa. The Peruvian fighter was more active than his opponent in the stand-up fight during the three rounds. By the second round, traces of blows were clearly visible on Carpenter's face.
