Undefeated 38-year-old American Terence Crawford has been stripped of his WBC super middleweight title.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to the organization's press service.
The reason for this decision is Crawford's failure to pay the $300,000 participation fee required of all WBC champions for his fight against Saul Alvarez in September. According to reports, Hamza Shiraz and Christian Mbilli will fight for the WBC super middleweight title.
Crawford currently holds the WBA Super, IBF, WBO and The Ring titles. Crawford has 42 wins, 31 of which were by knockout, and no losses.
