A video has surfaced on social media showing UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev shoving Irish fighter Ian Garry and addressing him emotionally.
According to Idman.biz, the incident occurred backstage at the UFC "Fight Night 265" tournament in Doha.
Chimaev later commented on the incident.
"Don't hit anyone from behind. He came up and started hitting me on the back. If you want to show respect, touch a person with respect. He came to make noise. He's trying to be like Conor, but he never will be," the champion said in an interview with Athlon Sports.
The conflict is a continuation of the tension between the fighters after Garry's victory over Belal Muhammad in the last tournament.
