Puerto Rican WBC super lightweight champion Subriel Matias has tested positive for doping.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) discovered the prohibited substance "ostarine" in the athlete's body.
It is reported that Matias has less than a month left before his first title defense. He is scheduled to face Dalton Smith in New York on December 10, but it is not yet known whether the fight will take place.
It is reported that Subriel has the right to request a B sample by the end of November.
It should be noted that Matias won the world title in July of this year by defeating Alberto Puello by judges' decision.
In turn, Puelo may regain the title in a fight against Smith if the WBC decides to strip Matias of the belt.
