Azerbaijani boxer Subhan Mammadov has reached the final of the U-23 European Championship held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Idman.Biz reports that the leader of the national team, competing in the 50 kg weight category, defeated Luis Runi (Ireland) in the semi-finals.
Mammadov, who won the first 2 rounds, finished the fight against the last champion of the analogous competition ahead of schedule in his favor. Doctors stopped the fight because the opponent was injured by a strong blow, and our boxer was declared the winner. He will fight against Ukrainian Maksym Rudik in the final tomorrow.
Taghi Nasibov (60 kg) and Sabuhi Alizadeh (+90 kg), other boxers in the team coached by Elbrus Rzayev, finished the European Championship with a bronze medal.
