UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland spoke about Khamzat Chimaev's desire to move to light heavyweight.
Idman.Biz reports that Strickland said he could consider his former opponent's decision to be the right move.
Their fight was the main event of the UFC 328 tournament held in Newark, New Jersey, USA, and ended with the American fighter's victory by split decision. After this result, Strickland became the UFC middleweight champion.
"I think he should do it. Because cutting weight kills you. Go up to light heavyweight and enjoy it. There's less competition there," Strickland said at a press conference.
It should be noted that Sean Strickland has 31 wins and seven losses in his professional career. The American fighter won 16 of his victories ahead of schedule. He made his debut in March 2008.
