Shukar Aliyev, who was named the best boxer of the Azerbaijan Youth Championship, greeted this event as a pleasant surprise.
The athlete himself told "Report" about this.
A member of the "Neftchi" Sports Club, he evaluated the competition in which he became the champion in the 75 kg weight category:
"I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of this tournament. It was really a high-level competition. There were very strong boxers in my weight. But I had prepared very seriously for all the meetings. I set a goal of becoming a champion. Being selected as the best boxer of the competition was a pleasant surprise for me. This title gives me additional responsibility. I have to work harder on myself. My next goals are to represent Azerbaijan worthily in the world arenas."
It should be noted that 459 boxers from 82 teams representing clubs and sports associations from various cities and regions of the country tested their strength in the competition.
