The new UFC middleweight champion (up to 84 kg), American Sean Strickland, has announced his intention to compete at "UFC White House - Freedom 250".
Idman.Biz reports that the event will be held in Washington on June 15.
"I want to fight at the White House tournament... I would like to go there and represent the USA. If I had lost [in the fight with Chimaev], I wouldn't go because I would be ashamed... But now I have to go," Strickland's MMA pros Pick account on the X social media site says.
Strickland's professional mixed martial arts record includes 31 wins, 16 of which were earned early, and seven losses. The American fighter made his MMA debut in March 2008.
