Azerbaijani mixed martial arts (MMA) master Rafael Fiziyev will headline a UFC tournament for the third time in his career.
According to Idman.Biz, Fiziyev, who competes in the lightweight division, will face Mexican Manuel Torres at the UFC tournament in Baku and will headline the night.
The tournament will be held on June 27 at the National Gymnastics Arena.
Fiziyev has participated in the main fight twice before. He faced Rafael dos Anjos in a five-round fight in 2022, and in 2023 he headlined the tournament in a fight against Mateusz Gamrot.
Thus, Fiziyev will once again be in the spotlight and will headline the night for the third time in the UFC. It should be noted that he could have achieved this status earlier. He was supposed to face former organization champion Charles Oliveira in the main fight of the tournament scheduled to be held on October 11, 2025 in Rio de Janeiro. However, this fight did not take place due to a knee injury.
The situation is different for his opponent, Manuel Torres. He will be headlining a UFC tournament for the first time in his career.
Note that the second main fight of the night will be between Shara Magomedov and Michel Pereira.
