Petr Yan, 32, the former UFC bantamweight champion, announced that he underwent surgery after his rematch fight with Merab Dvalishvili at "UFC 323" in Las Vegas.
Idman.Biz reports that the fight ended with Petr's unanimous decision victory.
"I was under anesthesia for nine hours. I had back surgery yesterday. I'll be back in a few months," Yan wrote on social media.
The first fight between Petr and Merab took place on March 11, 2023, at "UFC Fight Night 221". The fight lasted all five rounds and ended with Dvalishvili's unanimous decision victory. This was Yan's third consecutive defeat.
