The first day of the national taekwondo championship and primary competition, held at the Sports and Health Club of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES SHC), kicked off with performances by young athletes.
Idman.Biz reports that on the first day of the national championship, winners were determined in the weight categories of 45 kg, 55 kg, 68 kg, 78 kg, +78 kg among boys, and +59 kg, +68 kg among girls.
A total of 436 taekwondo athletes from 72 clubs and sports associations representing the capital and regions will participate in the four-day competition.
A total of 317 athletes (202 boys, 115 girls) will compete in the national youth championship, while 119 taekwondo athletes (81 men, 38 women) will compete in the Azerbaijani championship among adults.
