The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has penalized Movlid Khaybulaev, the champion in the 66 kg weight category.
İdman.Biz reports that Khaybulaev has been disqualified for one year after a doping sample taken at the World Tournament Final revealed a prohibited substance - recombinant erythropoietin (rEPO).
This substance artificially improves performance by increasing the number and resistance of erythrocytes and is always on the list of prohibited substances for athletes according to PFL rules.
Khaybulaev's champion status, belt, and bonuses awarded to him have been revoked. The penalty is calculated for one year from August 1, 2025, and he will be eligible to compete again in August 2026.
The news has caused a great resonance in the MMA world, as Khaybulaev is one of the most successful fighters in the PFL, and the doping violation could seriously affect his career.
