After a long illness, Mirali Seyidov, one of the founders of the karate and jiu-jitsu school in our country, the president of the Azerbaijan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and the honored coach of the republic, has passed away today.

Mirali Seyidov is one of the founders of martial arts in Azerbaijan.
Back in 1979, he was the first head coach of the national karate team and trained a number of prominent sports masters. In 1998, Mirali Seyidov created the Azerbaijan Jiu-Jitsu Federation and has continuously led this organization for almost three decades.
Mirali Seyidov would have turned 70 on May 20, 2026.
