Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor has accused Russian athlete Khabib Nurmagomedov of deceiving and being hypocritical towards his fans after putting his papakhas (traditional hats) up for auction in digital NFT format on the Telegram messenger.
According to İdman.Biz, in a message shared on the X social network, the Irishman harshly criticized the actions of his former rival, claiming that he used the name of his late father and Dagestan culture to make a quick profit.
"Can a good guy like Khabib scam his fans using his deceased father's name and Dagestani culture, quickly sell hats in an online digital NFT format auction, delete all content after the sale, and bankrupt his fans by leaving them penniless? A good guy just can't do that," McGregor wrote.
The athletes previously had one of the most talked-about fights in UFC history. Their rivalry continues to attract the attention of fans even years later.
