The location and date of the rematch between eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated American Floyd Mayweather may change.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to BoxingScene.
The fight is planned to be moved from the "Sphere Arena" to an MGM-affiliated venue; options include the "T-Mobile Arena" or the "MGM Grand Garden Arena" in Las Vegas. The date of the fight may also change; instead of September 19, mid-August, especially the 15th, is being discussed.
The fight will be held as an official professional fight; the result will be included in the boxers' records (50-0 for Mayweather and 62-8-3 for Pacquiao).
"It didn't make sense to have the fight at the Sphere Arena - it's not casino-related. The fight won't take place there. Absolutely not. Million percent," BoxingScene quoted a source close to the situation as saying.
Sphere and MGM representatives have not yet commented on the situation.
