Former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones has reacted sharply to the comments made by the organization's CEO, Dana White, about him. White had stated that Jones had no chance of fighting at the historic tournament to be held at the White House in Washington, D.C., on June 14.
Idman.Biz reports that the 38-year-old athlete expressed his objection to these statements on his social media account.
Jones wrote, noting that the discussions were not real:
"So the negotiations were completely nonsense. Do you want me to openly admit that? Have I been fired from the UFC?"
It should be noted that Jon Jones, who was the UFC champion in the heavyweight (up to 120 kg) and twice in the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) divisions, announced that he would end his career in 2025. However, rumors that he might return for a special tournament at the White House have increased tensions. Jones's latest statement shows that his relationship with the organization's leadership is quite tense.
