James Toney, 57-year-old Boxing Hall of Famer and former world champion in three weight classes, has harshly criticized undefeated Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
"Your Usyk is pure garbage. If he fought in my era, they would have hit him from right and left, he wouldn't have had a chance. Usyk is mid-level. He's not great. You know why? None of these modern boxers are among the greatest boxers in history.
It's not like it was in my era now. They don't fight anybody. They just don't want to fight. The only way to be great is to get in the ring against great opponents.
I would knock this Ukrainian boxer out without any problems. Competition in the modern heavyweight division is at a completely different level," Idman.Biz quotes Toney as saying, citing Bloody Elbow.
