Current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has stated his desire to have his next fight against Kamaru Usman, the former 77 kg title holder.
According to Idman.Biz, the Russian fighter noted the status and achievements of his potential opponent.
"I would like to fight Usman. Why not? He has many titles, many defenses and records. It would be a great fight," Makhachev told Match TV.
Kamaru Usman's last fight was on June 15 at "UFC on ESPN 69" in Atlanta. His opponent was Joaquin Buckley. The fight lasted five rounds and ended with Usman's unanimous decision victory.
