Georgian fighter Ilia Topuria, the UFC lightweight (70 kg) champion, plans to hold his next fight in the spring of 2026.
Idman.Biz reports that Spanish journalist Alvaro Colmenero stated that the process is going in a completely different direction from the previous plans.
"A lot has changed. There were personal situations. You will be surprised what will happen in lightweight. I can confirm that Ilia will not fight in January. February? I doubt it very much. If you ask me, I think Ilia will fight in the spring," the journalist emphasized.
Topuria is currently 28 years old. The Georgian fighter has been competing in the UFC since 2020. In 2024, he won the featherweight (65 kg) title and successfully defended it once. In 2025, he won the lightweight (70 kg) championship belt.
