Ian Garry, ranked second in the UFC's welterweight division (77 kg), expressed harsh opinions about current champion Islam Makhachev during sparring.
Idman.Biz reports that the Irish fighter insulted his manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, while talking about a possible fight with the Russian champion. Garry called the manager a "little rat" and said he was dealing with nonsense.
Commenting on Islam Makhachev's request for more time to fight, Garry said:
"I think Islam is ready to fight. I think he's one of the best fighters the world has to offer. But you can't call yourself the best regardless of weight class and then try to buy time. You have to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. That's the definition of the strongest man in the world, and I live by that rule."
