Ian Garry, the Irish welterweight champion ranked second in the UFC, has said that he does not believe that the 34-year-old UFC champion, Russian Islam Makhachev, is injured.
Idman.Biz reports that Garry hinted that Makhachev was avoiding a fight with him.
"I also heard [that Makhachev injured his hand], but I don't believe it. I don't know what to believe. I can't imagine Islam injuring his hand in his last fight with Jack - maybe it happened while riding a horse? I think these are just excuses. Everything about him tells me that Islam doesn't want to fight me. He's doing what all champions do when they win a belt," Garry said.
At the UFC event in Qatar on November 22, Ian Garry won his last fight by unanimous decision over Palestinian-American Belal Muhammad.
