Azerbaijani boxers Amin Mammadzadeh (55 kg) and Subhan Mammadov, who won gold medals at the traditional "Great Silk Road" international tournament held in Baku, aim to achieve success in prestigious competitions.
A.Mammadzadeh said that he prepared very well for the competition.
"I believed I would win. I won three fights and won a gold medal. I intend to participate in the European Championship among adults. I also want to win a medal there and raise the flag of Azerbaijan," he said in a statement to report.az.
S.Mammadov also said that the preparation was at a high level, like his teammate:
"I managed to defeat my opponents in all three matches. I am happy for this. This is the second time I have experienced the joy of being a champion in this tournament. The World Cup will be held in Brazil on April 20. I want to repeat this result there as well."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team took first place in the team score with 21 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, 10 bronze) at the competition in the Baku Boxing Center and won the "Great Silk Road" cup. Kazakhstan (3-5-7) was in second place, and Turkey (3-0-3) closed the "top three".
