Former UFC welterweight title challenger Gilbert Burns claims that 26-year-old Michael Morales is not a serious opponent for Islam Makhachev.
Idman.Biz reports that the Brazilian athlete emphasized Makhachev's advantages, who owns the championship belt in the welterweight division (77 kg). According to Burns, the Ecuadorian fighter's physical characteristics will not be enough for success.
"Morales is a big fighter, but I believe Islam can control him, tire him out, and win early in later rounds. But Ian Garry and Kamaru Usman are very tough opponents for Islam Makhachev. These fights cannot be called easy at all," Burns told MMA Fighting.
It should be reminded that 34-year-old Islam Makhachev is currently considered one of the strongest fighters in the UFC and has declared his readiness for new challenges in various weight divisions.
