Former world professional boxing champion, Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin has been elected president of the international sports organization "World Boxing".

The presidential elections took place yesterday, November 23, at a congress held in Rome, the capital of Italy.
The term of office will be three years.
"It is a great honor for me to be elected as the new president of "World Boxing", and this is just the beginning. From today, athletes will be at the center of every decision made.
