Eight Azerbaijani boxers will compete in the 1/4 finals of the world championship held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This was reported by the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.
Two more athletes of the national team won in the 1/8 finals.
Magsud Khasmetov (63.5 kg) was stronger than Ruslan Gafurov (Tajikistan). He defeated his opponent with a score of 5:0 (30:26, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). Khasmetov will fight Omar Livaza (Kyrgyzstan) in the 1/4 finals.
Sarkhan Aliyev (71 kg) also won his next victory. The medalist of the world championship this time defeated Arturs Vaise (Latvia) with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28). He will test Ablaikhan Zhussupov (Kazakhstan) in the 1/4 finals.
