The return of UFC fighter and former two-division champion Conor McGregor to the octagon has been officially announced.
Idman.Biz reports that UFC President Dana White has announced that the Irish fighter will face Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA.
The fight will be at welterweight. This will be Holloway's first appearance in the 77 kg weight class.
McGregor last entered the octagon in the summer of 2021. He suffered a severe leg injury and lost in a fight against Dustin Poirier. After that, the Irish athlete repeatedly announced his intention to return to the UFC, but his return was postponed for various reasons.
Holloway had his previous fight in March of this year at the UFC 326 tournament and lost to Charles Oliveira by unanimous decision.
It should be noted that this will be the second duel between McGregor and Holloway. The two first met in 2013, and McGregor won that fight by unanimous decision.
