UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev may have lost his title fight against Sean Strickland, but he significantly surpassed his opponent in terms of earnings.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to "GiveMeSport" that Chimaev earned $3.09 million (5.25 million AZN) for his fight at UFC 328. The new champion Strickland's fee is reported to be $1.08 million (1.84 million AZN).
The fight lasted five rounds. The judges gave the victory to Strickland by split decision: 48:47, 47:48, 48:47. As a result, the American fighter became the new UFC middleweight champion.
Chimaev, representing the UAE, suffered his first defeat in his career. He has 15 wins and one loss. Strickland has increased the number of victories in his career to 31.
