David Benavides, the undefeated current WBC super middleweight (up to 79.2 kg) champion of Mexican-American descent, has achieved another success. He defeated Gilberto Ramirez on the night of May 3rd to win the WBA and WBO titles in the cruiserweight division.
Idman.Biz reports that in the fourth round of the fight, David's successive attacks put his opponent in a difficult position. As a result, Ramirez had to kneel, and the referee counted a knockdown. Increasing his advantage further in the sixth round, Benavides continued to land heavy blows on his opponent. After Ramirez complained about his eye, the referee stopped the fight and declared a knockout.
With this victory, Benavides not only maintained his undefeated streak in his professional career but also added two more prestigious belts to his collection.
