Azerbaijani karatekas won 5 medals in various age and weight categories at the World Championship organized by the World Kyokushin Federation (KWF) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Karate Federation (AKF) that Javid Kazimli (16-17 years old, +80 kg) and Seljan Babayeva (+60 kg) won gold medals.
Rahman Yusubov (14-15 years old, 75 kg) won silver, Vagif Bandaliyev (16-17 years old, 70 kg) and Togrul Orujov (12-13 years old, 60 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan participated in the World Championship with a delegation of 20 people, including 16 athletes, 2 referees, 1 head coach and 1 country representative. Karatekas tested their strength in both individual and team competitions.
The national team was led by AKF Secretary General Qabil Sayadov and KWF representative Rza Mustafayev.
