The Azerbaijani national team, which successfully participated in the European Karate Championship (WKF) among youth held in Limassol, Republic of Cyprus, has returned to the Motherland.

In the prestigious tournament held on February 6-8, our karatekas won medals in various age and weight categories. Salman Salmanov, who competed in kata in the U-18 age category, won a bronze medal. In kumite competitions, Cansu Ahmadzade in the 66 kg weight category and Ravan Abasov in the 61 kg weight category won bronze medals. Vusal Ganbarov, who competed in 55 kg, won a silver medal. Aladdin Melikov, who competed in the 68 kg weight category, defeated all his rivals and won a gold medal, rising to the highest step of the podium.
Aslan Dostuyev, representing our country in the U-21 age category, won a bronze medal in the 60 kg weight category.
Our national team competed in the European Championship under the leadership of Gabil Sayadov, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, Anar Allahverdiyev, head coach of the U-18 national team, Elnur Ibrahim, head coach of the U-21 national team, and Ismail Guliyev, assistant head coach for kata.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani karatekas finished the European Championship with one gold, one silver and four bronze medals.
