Our team won three gold and one bronze medal for the first time at the World Cup.
In the final, Subhan Mammadov (50 kg) fought Issam Bensayara (Morocco). Our boxer, who finished all three rounds in his favor, eventually won 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27) and won a gold medal.
Following him, Muhammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) also rose to the highest step of the podium. He showed his strength to Davit Chaloyan (Armenia) in the decisive match. Abdullayev, who defeated his opponent with a score of 3:2 (29:28, 28:29, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28), formalized the third gold medal of our team and played the Azerbaijani anthem for the third time in Brazil.
As part of our national team, Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) became the winner of the World Cup in the first session of the final stage, and Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) won a bronze medal earlier.
