The Azerbaijani national boxing team, consisting of athletes under 19, successfully completed the international tournament held in Kutaisi, Georgia.
İdman.Biz reports that our team won 12 medals in the competition. Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg), Aylin Nazarova (54 kg), Rza Rzayev (70 kg) and Saftar Mammadzadeh (+90 kg) in our team won gold medals by defeating all their opponents.
Zahra Mammadova (54 kg), Ali Bakhishov (60 kg) and Shahin Aslanov (65 kg), who advanced to the final but lost in the decisive match, completed the tournament with silver medals.
Other representatives, Ali Aliyev (50 kg), Vusal Khalilov (65 kg), Nijat Imanov (80 kg), Heydar Azmammadov (85 kg) and Muhammad Jafarov (+90 kg), won bronze medals.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team won four gold, three silver and five bronze medals in the international tournament. Our team took second place in the overall standings among 11 countries.
