Adedamola Joshua, the uncle of former world boxing champion Anthony Joshua, has announced that his nephew has ended his career.
İdman.Biz reports that Joshua was involved in a car accident in Nigeria a few days ago.
The accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan highway. The "Lexus" in which the athlete was traveling crashed into a stationary truck. As a result of the accident, two of Joshua's friends and his coach died.
"The main thing is that he has retired. This is something we are happy about because we are overwhelmed with emotions every time he enters the ring. Every time he falls, it's as if our hearts are jumping out of our chests. All these emotional experiences he experiences during his fights are also very difficult for us.
We are also happy now that he has announced that he is ending his career with the highest applause," Adedamola told Nigeria's Punch newspaper.
