Seven-time world kickboxing champion Alim Nabiyev has won his third consecutive MMA victory at the international tournament held in Batumi.
Idman.Biz reports that the GFC (Georgian Fighting Championship) and "Grand Bellagio Championship" tournament took place in Batumi on February 14.
The most interesting match of the night was between Nabiyev, who lives in Georgia, represents Azerbaijan and Georgia in international arenas, seven-time world and three-time European kickboxing champion, nicknamed "Professor", and Brazilian Jaime Souza. In a tense battle that lasted three rounds, the Azerbaijani athlete showed complete superiority and enjoyed a confident victory. With this, he formalized his third consecutive victory in his MMA career.
The other Azerbaijani who won that night was Elvin Kamilli. He defeated his Georgian opponent Sandro Datanashvili and brought the next success to the team.
Fighters from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Israel and Brazil tested their strength in the tournament. Famous athletes and coaches from Azerbaijan, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia and the Consulate General in Batumi, visited the city to watch the event.
