Former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has signed a new eight-fight deal with the league after winning the 93 kg title. The Brazilian athlete said he was so pleased with the terms of the new contract that he even agreed to a non-title fight at heavyweight.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to "The Ariel Helwani Show" program that Alex Pereira touched upon interesting points while talking about his plans to move to the heavyweight division. He emphasized that the conditions offered to him by the UFC were enough to fight any opponent.
"To be honest, I just wanted to give up my belt and fight heavyweights, maybe even fight for the title. But even if it was just a regular fight against one of the top fighters in the heavyweight division, I would agree. The UFC offered me such a good deal that I had no objections. They did whatever they wanted, it didn't matter to me," said Alex Pereira.
