Ratomir Delic: "We Don't Shy Away from Any Opponent"
The Azerbaijani national team will compete in Group A at the 3x3 Basketball World Cup.
Ratomir Delic, the head coach of the Azerbaijani women's national 3x3 basketball team, shared his thoughts on the World Cup.
Idman.Biz reports that the specialist stated that participation in the competition, which will be held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, from June 1-7, is a great source of pride and responsibility for the team.
"Participating in a high-level tournament like the World Cup is the greatest dream that every athlete and coach has had since childhood. Fighting for the world championship against the strongest teams is both a great source of pride and a serious responsibility for us," said Ratomir Delic.
According to the head coach, the team will try to put all its attention, energy and fighting spirit into every 10 minutes it is on the field:
"Our goal is to go to every game with only the thought of winning and to achieve successful results by representing our country properly. The tournament will feature the world's strongest 3x3 basketball players and high-level teams. However, we do not shy away from any opponent. I believe that if we maintain our current focus and game discipline, we have the power to compete against any team."
Ratomir Delic emphasized that the team's main goal is to show its game on the field and maximize its potential.
"If we can do that, we can be satisfied with our performance, regardless of the result," he added.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team is in Group A with the national teams of the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic and Madagascar at the World Cup.
