"Neftchi" basketball team's games in the main stage of the European Cup will be intense and interesting.
This was stated by the coach of "the white-blacks", Daviti Chivchivadze, in an interview with "Report".
The expert spoke about the team's goals in the tournament:
"This is a historic moment for 'Neftchi'. The main goal is to fight well, represent the club properly in this tournament and advance to the second round by winning as many games as possible."
The Georgian coach also shared his thoughts on the opponents in Group I:
"We have analyzed the opponents. All teams are strong enough. 'Trefl' (Sopot, Poland) has local players who play for the national team. Latvia's 'Kalev' also has a strong squad. Azerbaijani representative 'Absheron Lions' has also added experienced and quality players to its squad. It is difficult to call any club a favorite. Because there will be very intense and interesting games."
According to Daviti Chivchivadze, the current season is a historic moment not only for "Neftchi", but also for Azerbaijani basketball:
"Three clubs from the country participate in European Cups, and two of them will compete in the same group. I believe that this event will be the beginning of a new history for Azerbaijani basketball."
It should be noted that "Neftchi" will face Latvia's "Kalev", Poland's "Trefl" and Azerbaijan's "Absheron Lions" in Group I of the main stage of the European Cup.
