Brandon Clarke, a 29-year-old Canadian forward playing for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA), has reportedly died from a suspected drug overdose, according to initial reports.

"Brandon Clarke's death is suspected to be the result of a drug overdose. Law enforcement officials reportedly discovered drug paraphernalia at the home where the Memphis Grizzlies player's body was found on Monday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency call around 5:00 p.m. local time on Monday, and Clarke was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived. An autopsy will determine the cause and circumstances of death," the article states.

Brandon Clarke, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies NBA basketball club, has died at the age of 29.

Clarke was selected by Memphis with the 21st overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft and spent all seven seasons of his career with the club.
In April 2026, Clarke was arrested in Cross County, Arkansas, on charges of possessing a prohibited substance, speeding, and improper passing. He was released on bail the next day.
The Canadian center began his career at San Jose State and later played for Gonzaga. Clarke, along with Ja Morant, was one of the longest-tenured players on the Grizzlies roster.
