Russian MMA fighter of Dagestani origin, Islam Makhachev, has won a victory over Irish Ian Garry at the UFC 330 tournament.
Lent.az reports that the fight, which took place in Philadelphia, USA, lasted for five rounds. Makhachev was declared the winner by the unanimous decision of the judges.
With this victory, Islam Makhachev defended his UFC championship title in the lightweight category. He also made history by securing his 17th consecutive victory in the UFC.
By doing so, Makhachev surpassed the record of 16 consecutive victories in the UFC set by Brazilian Anderson Silva.
