U-20 European Championship: 3 of our Greco-Roman wrestlers in the final

The U-20 European Wrestling Championship has started in Caorle, Italy.

Idman.biz reports that Greco-Roman wrestlers opened the continental championship.

On the first day, 5 athletes of the Azerbaijani national team entered the mat, and 3 of them qualified for the semi-finals. All three of them reached the final.

Turan Dashdamirov defeated Georgian Koba Karumidze on the last point (4:4) and Armenian Levon Ghazaryan based on the first point principle (1:1) and advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-final, Turan wrestled with Ukrainian Nazariy Babinski. Our wrestler defeated his opponent with a score of 3:1 and became a finalist.

Tural Ahmadov defeated Italian Emanuele Pollinon with a full advantage (8:0), Bulgarian Kristiyan Milenkov with 4:0 and Hungarian Bende Olashi with 3:1. He faced Greek Marios Kapantais in the semi-finals. Our wrestler, who won with a full advantage of 11:1, qualified for the decisive match.

Davud Mammadov defeated Moldovan Konstantin Taska with a full advantage (11:0) and Turkish Yusuf Tosun based on the last point principle (3:3) and advanced to the semi-finals. Davud fought with Armenian Samvel Terteryan for the final. Mammadov was stronger with a score of 4:1 and got a chance to compete for the gold medal.
